PhyZual - 0004 Poetic Podcast; Fame

Come now, you didn’t think the limit and extent of my creative assertions was bound to some regimen schedule that wouldn’t allow for improvisation did you? Does art mimic life, or life mimic art? Either way, unexpected things happen all the time, and PhyZual Poetic Podcast won’t be any different. Only those who can be considered PhyZual Phans will catch word as these are released, unless of course you are subscribed to a directory that updates you automatically of when new PhyZual Podcast go out. Either way, only those with intent to do so will know of these particularly tasty morsels of audio creativity.

As with any new begining, I clear my voice then get down to business. Don’t worry about blocking time out of your schedule, this guy is only about 2 minutes long. That’s what makes it a chocolate chunk cookie of a treat, although this indulgence is calorie free and comes with only the guilt you bring to it.

As always, feedback is appreciated, and comments are encouraged. It is in fact, your willingness to comment, put out your two cents worth, and be heard, that makes you the PhyZual Phan Bass. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy every last crumb.

Thank you for your time and support.

May you be happy.
May you be peaceful.
May you be free.

Ok, this poem has me a bit disappointed. I thought there would be more references to the movie that made the 1980’s famous. I hear none of that here. On a more serious note, I hear words about hoping or even wanting to be famous and maybe some of the negative sides to it too. Fame to me is a double edged sword that I imagine would become a prison because of either washing up or never having enough privacy. Of which I would want none of it. Usually you don’t become famous just because you solely want to be but because others think you have something and want to promote it. Its always a gamble and sometimes too much for some. Do you really want to be recognized for what you truely love doing or do you just want to be recognized because you never have been before? And what do you do once you have it and then once it goes away? Some are bottle rockets, some are long running diesel engines but either way its a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll! PS—I didn’t hear the famous ‘May you be happy’ quotes at the end either. Maybe next time. Thanks and good on ya!

  2. Ol’ Billy!

Thank you for listening! The comments you have been leaving are of particular interest to me, and are always of high quality. I wanted to respond here to specifically two points you have made.

The first, I want to reassure you that the fame I am highlighting in this poem is something that I am recognizing in others, and whatever interest and recognition I receive for my work will be that. I do not aspire for fame for the sake of fame. You make some excellent points about it’s double sided nature that I agree with. To ensure this, word of mouth marketing remains my strongest and ’soul’ marketing tool. Pun intended. This is again why I am so grateful for the PhyZual Phan Bass.

The second point, I wanted to address is the Loving Kindness Mantra at the end of my podcasts thus far. I appreciate you noticing it, and noticing that it was not included here. Loving Kindness Meditation is something I hope to send out with all of my creative assertions and thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will look into getting it added.

I didn’t know Fame had green eyes and a nice rack…:-)
Thanks for sharing this poem. It’s beautiful!

Poetry is one of my favorite things, what a treat! Definately some interesting symbolism here. Perhaps the symbol of fame as a beautiful woman signifies the desire or enticement that fame holds for a lot of people. Then once that fame is achieved you may become the subject of envy, hence the symbol of the green eyes. With that also comes the responsibility of fame, maintaining the fame, etc.(ex. the 24/7 gig). I think the acknowledgement of the costs of fame is really important here as well, as Old Billy points out, there are definately two sides to fame. We hear many famous people speak about how exhausting it is to actually deal with being in the public eye and giving up the peaceful anonymity that regular joes enjoy. However, I feel that a lot of people once they reach a certain level of fame, they still continue to seek to increase their fame or recognition. I think the closing lines of this poem could be attributed to that ever-seeking of a higher level to one’s fame or achievements (”the chase and flirt will continue”). I’m not necessarily talking about movie stars or rock stars here, but fame holds many different interpretations for each person and I think we all seek our own level of fame on whatever level that may be. I also really enjoyed the reference to the voodoo seductress, given my recent experience in New Orleans with a bad spell and a trip to the voodoo shoppe. A great poem!! Thanks again for the treat!

Definitely swoon material. I won’t delve into what I think the symbolism means, although I found the metaphor quite powerful. I love the way that you have taken fame and turned her (it) into something seductive and somewhat elusive. However, I know that the pursuit is what makes her so attractive. What is the significance of the green eyes? Green notoriously symbolizes envy or jealousy. Is there any correlation here?

  6. The mantra has been added, so maybe you’ll want to have another listen. I did change the ending to accentuate the matra at the end as well. I like it. Again, Thanx Ol’ Billy for bringing that to my attention. And, thank you for all the feedback and comments that are being left here. I look forward to releasing more Poetic Podcast.

    May you be happy.
    May you be peaceful.
    May you be free.

Ok, the ending is there and sounds more like it! I also listened to the audio file of the security word. I figured it would be the voice of the author on the site but it was the sounding of each letter of the phyzual word that another person says if you have not heard it yet. Either way I think you can tell I am bored at my ‘work’. Good on ya!

PS–One suggestion I have would be to have a chat room on here and one that my internet filters at work would not pick up on so I can chat too! Ha!

  8. В этом что-то есть. Огромное спасибо за объяснение, теперь я не допущу такой ошибки.
